Today, October 14th, is World Standards Day. A day to celebrate the world coming together to recognize the vital role of standards globally, and reminding us how important they can be in building connection, trust, and progress across industries. The 2025 theme: “Shared vision for a better world- Partnership for the Goals”, highlights the importance of collaboration in shaping a more sustainable and unified global future.

At FlavorActiV, this message resonates with our own mission. For over two decades we have been dedicated to developing flavour standards that help the food and beverage industry speak the same sensory language. One of our goals is to ensure that wherever you are in the world, sensory professionals share the same understanding, uniting the global industry through a common language of flavour.

By fostering collaboration across breweries, beverage companies and training programs worldwide, we are helping to build that shared understanding- a true example of ‘partnerships for the goals’ in action. Through our network of trained sensory professionals, we’re helping to align practices and strengthen industry standards. By using open communication, we enable sensory teams to learn from each other, builing community as well as skill.

In the same way international standards create harmony in technology and trade, sensory standards bring consistency and clarity to the world of taste and aroma.
