I am not sure about myth or misconception, however, from my experience I freely can say, not everyone realise the meaning of sensory analysis, they think it is just tasting smelling and easy to do.. while it is a real serious analysis where you need to have calibrated tasters, I like use terminology "calibrated" which highlights importance of being trained
