FlavorActiV’s Marcia Waters Session in WSET education zone

We had a fantastic time last week at London Wine Fair, a three-day event with over 14,000 wines to sample and a sell out crowd to do so. On Wednesday afternoon FlavorActiV’s Marcia Waters MW led a packed out hands-on off-note tasting session in the WSET education zone.

Making use of FlavorActiV’s GMP Pharma Quality Flavour Standards for wine, Marcia discussed the language of wine, the importance of a common descriptive language and standardised reference point as well as covering the importance of calibrating our palettes. Attendees sampled six wines each spiked with a different FlavorActiV wine flavour standard (which are all safe to both nose and taste) as Marcia discussed the potential causes of the taints and how to best avoid their occurrence.

For attendees of London Wine Fair that picked up their copy of the London Wine Fair Time on Monday, you might just have spotted our article on how FlavorActiV have been calibrating the palettes of wine tasters around the world. Should you have missed it, there’s a copy below.
