Bromophenol Beer Flavour Standard
Importance of the Bromophenol Beer Flavour Standard
Bromophenol is a taint in beer.
Origins of flavour
Bromophenol is produced due to external contamination of brewing raw materials and / or packaging materials with bromophenols. Especially associated with use of recycled paper and cardboard. Fireproofing materials also present a risk to beer.
Remarks
Bromophenol taints can be caused by several brominated phenols, of which 2-bromophenol is one.
